Belle & Sebastian - Slow Graffiti

So I've always had a soft spot for the grey.  The complications of life are more real to me than just a standard sappy love song.  Belle & Sebastian captured the grey perfectly in Slow Graffiti.  It's probably one of my favorite songs off Push Barman to Open Old Wounds.  It's slow and tragic but beautiful all at once.  And kicking off w/ just a piano and vocals helps you focus on Stuart's opening lines.  It's not what I'd call a catchy song and could easily have been a skipper if those opening lines hadn't reeled me in, have a listen.

So up above I reference Aimee Mann's Wise Up.  Worth a listen if you missed it when it hit in the 90s, but have a few tissues at the ready, it gets heavy.

As always thoughts and comments below.

  2. I have not read everything yet. I think I need my glasses for some of it but what I have read is as good as any other breakdown I have seen of the song. You obviously put a lot of thought into the song and must like it as much as I do. Very visually appealing as well in design. I really appreciate the work that you put into this :)
